I spent 3-4 years working with children in an after school program at my church. Several of the children had special needs. In that capacity we worked in reading, memory retention, art, and group games and activates. I was a camp counselor for 3 months at a camp in upstate Pennsylvania, USA. There I was solely in charge of 10 children ranging from 6 to 8 years old. This job consisted of taking them from activity to activity, fulfilling basic needs, even down to changing their sheets when little accidents occurred. Together we did swimming activities, sports, arts and crafts. I have a degree in history and eventually want to teach lower grade children. I have a passion for education and learning. I am patient, but firm when I need to be. I love to read so I can tell amazing stories, I can draw and enjoy art. I am not the most athletic person, but I make a wonderful cheering squad. I have a great memory for random and weird facts children find interesting. I am a cheerful and kind person.
