I was a career for Children on the spectrum (Autism). Under the National Disability Insurance Scheme. My responsibilities included watching the children until parents returned home. I would supply Breakfast, lunch and dinner. This would occur on weekends and after school hours. I would support the children to develop independent Day to day skills. I would also take them out to do various activities including swimming and dancing. This helped and encourage them to develop/gain confidence. I also did my work experience at The Northern School for Autism. I have also cared for all my nieces and nephews as young as 6 months old. I have a strong relationship with children as I develop a strong trust and respect with them that gives them reason to listen and see me as a friends but also a caring trusting person they can open up too.
