Hello! My name is August. I grew up with Montessori style education and love helping children learn through play. I discovered I loved working with children after being the designated family babysitter. I was a girl guide and have experience with children in need of additional support, especially ADHD and ASD. I have grown up with both, and although I have learnt to manage them very well now, I remember what it was like to have such a busy brain as a kid. Using this, I’m able to deescalate potential meltdowns very quickly, use strategies to engage your child in homework and support them in general. I am patient, energetic, creative and fun. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty if finger painting is your child’s favourite hobby! I have a blue card, and I’ve almost got my P plates, but have transportation in the mean time. I’m also comfortable with day trips to the Queensland Museum or Art Gallery, local parks, or walks through nature. I know a bunch of recipes for quick and easy meals, I clean up after myself and am willing to learn what your child’s favourite snacks/meals are, to keep them healthy and happy!
