I have not officially worked as a babysitter, however, I am experienced with looking after children. In highschool, I worked at Build-A-Bear. An essential skill I developed was communicating with children in a fun but professional manner. Especially during birthday parties, we were taught to use positive reinforcement and difficult-behavior management. For my university course, a subject required us to conduct a 5-week placement in a school where we planned lessons and looked after children for an afternoon. From these experiences, I have become adept in behavior management strategies such as individual/ group reinforcement, clear communication, and (most importantly) establishing mutual respect with the kids.
