My experience is as a mother & grandmother, their ages vary from 8 months to 18 years(grandchildren),with the most recent taking care of my 18 month old granddaughter. This involved all aspects of care from wake up to putting to bed. I would care for your child/children with the same care I do my own grandchildren. Have held blue and yellow cards, now expired, did work in the disability sector for about 12 months.
