My name is Aleisha and I am currently a first year University Student studying Occupational Therapy in the Gold Coast. In 2024, I took a gap year overseas, working in an outdoor recreational centre for children, working with children aged 6-17 years old. This required me to look after up to 12 children at a time, specifically during the summer when children would come and stay for a week with no parents or teachers. This made me their primary carer for the week, where I had to ensure their needs were met, as well as prioritise their physical and emotional wellbeing. I am happy to do a variety of tasks with the children such as taking them to extra curricular activities, cooking, light housework, helping with homework, as well as playing and keeping the children occupied with games, crafts, etc. I can work from the end of February, up to 4 days a week, and am happy to work some weekends, as well as nights.
