I started my journey caring for the elderly 22 years ago. I became a volunteer for Age Concern in Auckland. Visiting elders in their home. Offering them companionship and friendship. I then began cleaning homes for the elderly and I did that for 15yrs. During that time I then became a Activities Assistant in a large resthome/complex in East Auckland. Organizing and implementing the weekly activities/roasters. Taking weekly bus trips and outings. Bowls, bingo and baking groups etc.. plus weekly entertainment ( singers & dancers ) Visiting other resthomes and all the other details ( personal progress reports etc.. ) that are involved in running a weekly program for 12years. From their I became a Support Worker for Enliven Presbyterian Support Northern. Caring for numerous patients in their homes around East Auckland. Im a Qualified Level 3 Caregiver. I then relocated to the Gold Coast in February 2022. I now work part-time for a NDIS company helping people in the community with various disabilities. I have a recent Australian police check. NDIS card and Blue card. I'm fully vaxed. I also have a recent 1st aid & CPR.
