Hello. I have been working as a personal care assistant for 5 continuous years. I have 4 years experience working with people with dementia. For me, being respectful, calm, and compassionate are the 3 most important traits to have as a carer. Sometimes aged people have hard times communicating what they need due to their conditions. By putting myself in their shoes and having some knowledge of their health conditions help me understand what they are trying to convey even without using words. I personalise my service according to their needs and preferences.
