My recent role consists of providing personal care such as: toileting, showering, grooming, feeding, accompanying clients to social activities and other personal hygiene task as per clients care plan. I am responsible for fitting, and changing catheter bags and emphasizing on those clients who have physical frailty. And I have been able to ensure clients compliance in a way that makes them feel respected and supported in their daily living. I am experienced in supporting people with disabilities, including catering for their specific needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals. I facilitate individually tailored disability schedules for my clients, and include, outings, doctor visits, preparing food, engagement in arts and writing activities, and setting of personal goals for each client. Therefore, I believe, working as a Support Worker, I can build rapport quickly and demonstrate empathy and understanding of issues relating to people who may be at risk and have high support needs. Besides my role as a Support Worker, I am also experienced in household tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, washing, and ironing, making beds, tidy rooms and undertake basic repairs.
