I currently work part time at Raafa’s aged care lodge in Meadow springs. I have been there for a year now and love my job. I need something casual and local in addition to my carers job that is close to me and my children’s home and schooling to help with the rising costs of living. I was doing community care and working for an aged care agency before my job at Raafa. I have attention to detail, believe in person centred care, have what most carers lack which is compassion and empathy. I believe it’s important to help maintain one’s independence utilising their full potential and abilities until they require more assistance. I fully believe in what some of my residents say ‘I’ll use it til I lose it’ and I love being there to support that independence. Otherwise I have a cert III in aged care and disability support to help me support correctly any clients needing a more hands on approach.
