| I am a 21 year old female currently in my second year of studying a Bachelor of Primary Education. I currently work as a nanny for 3 kids ranging from the ages of 5-10, one of whom has special needs. Previously, I have worked in remote indigenous communities in the Northern Territory as an assistant teacher, during this time I worked with new born babies in the crèche - teenagers. | I believe that early childhood education is so much more important than many people realize and I have a lot of experience working with children who need a little extra support. I believe in learning through play & encouraging children to have fun and explore. If I care for your child, I wouldn't want to sit and watch TV with hem all day as some nannies do. Instead, I would love to fly kites, paint, do arts and crafts, bake cakes and cookies, read & explore. As a parent, it is hard to leave your child with someone else and it is hard for the child too. But if the child is distracted and busy learning & having fun, spending time with a Nanny becomes less daunting for you & your child and instead becomes something to look forward to. I am an excellent cook, I can speak a little Spanish so am happy to work with bilingual families, I can change nappies & know how to heat a bottle to the right temperature etc. I also have first aid training & I know how to spot and identify dangerous childhood illnesses and the symptoms that come with them. I know how to calm all kinds of tantrums & how to subside boredom. I also have a 5 seat dual-cab ute so plenty of room to take kids to the park to play or even to pick up your groceries.
