My experience through coached and as a leader in summer camps, ranging age 7 – 13

I am a 19-year-old Norwegian student currently taking my Bachelor of Science at JCU. My experience with working with children first-hand has developed through my passion for sailing. I usually coached and participated as a leader in summer camps in sailing for over five years, ranging primarily from age 7 – 13 with both girls and boys. Additionally, I have been babysitting some of my neighbour’s kids when some extra help was needed. Mainly my work has been in Norway, but I have also worked in Italy with a similar line of work.
Because of my experience teaching children, I have learned how to communicate proficiently and calmly. Additionally, I have experience in first aid and a coaching license which helps me make the right decision in a stressful situation. I have always had a strong connection with the kids and have grown to love to teach and see their individual development. It is essential to try to engage them in a fun and exciting way to develop a safe environment for the kids. Even though I am Norwegian originally, my English level is advanced, and I am fine communicating proficiently. I can contribute to basic household tasks and essential care for the kids.
