Social & Activity provider for Hills District older householders or aged care residents
|
Whilst I do not have official aged care experience I know how important regular social contact is for the elderly. My experience comes from dealing with my father in his retirement, both in his own home and after going into aged care.
His mental health was important to me and I noticed his state of mind was dependant on him getting regular contact and stimulating conversations. Sadly he has passed away, however his life experiences as an aged person affected me deeply.
I would like to preserve my own good mental health by providing companionship to others, perhaps like my father, whilst earning a small wage, as I am unable to find suitable part time work in my profession; Accounts/Admin, and I am too young to access my superannuation or get a pension.
I am an empathetic & compassionate person who is a good listener and I am also able to provide activities such as reading to, or playing cards or board games with the aged person, or anything else they would like to do!
