Hello! We are currently looking at options for in home care(using childcare subsidy) to begin in January for our identical twins who will be 20 months old. We are new to the area and I am starting work as a junior doctor with a rotating roster with occasional early starts, afternoon shifts, rostered/unrostered overtime and weekend shifts depending on the rotation. I will have a roster in Advance to plan with. My partner is an airforce officer with intermittent short notice absences from home including occasional weekends. At times we may require overnight care. Due to our jobs we aren’t able to access regular childcare and will need a nanny who can be flexible with our rosters as we don’t have family in Newcastle. Quinn and Frankie are very happy identical twin girls who were born 5 weeks early. They are meeting all of their milestones and there are no concerns about their development. They are very petite but they don’t let that stop them! They have been attending full time centre based childcare since March 2024 where we currently live and have thrived in this environment. We are after a nanny who is going to be able to support their learning and happiness and we would love if regular outings to parks, play groups and libraries/museums could be facilitated. We would like our nanny to have their own car and we can provide car seats. We would like our nanny to have a minimum of a cert 3 in early childhood education or equivalent. The girls will require meals prepared and we have a large kitchen available. You will be caring for them in our soon to be purchased home which is a large 4 bed 3 bath double story home with a large backyard. At home we also have our dog Kipper who is a 9 year old border collie who usually resides inside or out, the twins are very comfortable with him. He is able to be kept outside in his own half of a yard so that outside time can be had without Kipper there. We also have a cat Pounce who is a 4 year old Russian Blue hypoallergenic cat. He is an inside only cat and doesn’t want a lot to do with the twins but let’s them pat him, he is very friendly. We are happy to negotiate appropriate leave throughout the year as needed. At this stage we envisage the position being 40-50 hours a week. A side note, Victoria my wife and I have been together for 10 years and married for 4.
