Hello, We are a same-sex couple with a newborn looking for a babysitter to come by for a few hours a day, several days a week, while one mum (shift worker) is away from home. Our daughter is only five weeks old so your responsibility would be keeping an eye on baby while she naps (studying or watching telly during this time is just fine!), interacting with baby when she is awake, and bringing baby to mum for a feed when she is showing hunger cues or is fussy beyond your ability to calm. We are breastfeeding, you would not need to prepare bottles. I plan to remain at home, catching up on chores etc while you are here, so you do not need to have prior experience with newborns-- I can answer any questions. We live in Flora Hill and I am happy to provide pickup/dropoff within fifteen minutes of our house if you do not have your own transit option. We are very open timing wise. Late morning, afternoon, or early evening are all options-- the main thing is that to ensure I have a break from babycare while my partner is gone for 14 hours. My partner works a consistent schedule over the course of a fortnight so I would like to set up a fairly regular schedule with you, but can also be somewhat flexible to fit your other commitments. I am also interested in finding more than one babysitter to split our care needs, so that I have a backup I can call if you are not available, and vice versa. We have one 14 year old dog, who is very low key personality wise, but a major fur shedder. We are a non-smoking household and would prefer that you do not smoke or vape.
