Hi, we're looking for someone to fill in for 6 weeks looking after our almost 5-year-old son, while our current educator is away. Ideally, we need someone for 3 days a week (approx. 9-4 Monday, Thursday and Friday) starting Monday 17 May until Friday 25th June. There may be some flexibility in terms of days etc. so if you are available for most of this period please message me. We are also hoping that this person could be ongoing secondary support to our family and current educator, maybe doing one day a week for a few weeks leading up to this time to get to know our son and then carry on possibly on an ongoing basis for one day a week after this period, but this is all flexible. As this care is CCS subsidised and being provided through the in-home care agency, you will need to be registered (or willing to register), with an inhome care service provider and meet the requirements for inhome care - minimum cert 3 and first aid qualifications etc. Ideally you would have had experience with kids with complex behaviours and have loads of patience, energy and a and sense of fun! We have a beautiful, intelligent and very fun little guy, who is struggling with emotional regulation and learning how to interact with peers. The right person is warm, nurturing, understanding and very calm and patient, but also fun, energetic and firm when required. Ideally someone with an understanding of complex behavioural needs and prepared to adopt the approach we are following. We are accessing child care via government subsidised In Home Child Care support and as such you need to be registered, or willing to register, with an agency such as Beaucare and certain child care qualifications are required, as listed below. In terms of hours, our son will be attending kindy for Thursday and Friday mornings and we need someone to collect him about 1.30 and stay with him at home until about 4.30. In addition, we need care for one full day at home on Tuesday’s, which will include taking him to a swimming lesson. (Tues could possibly be a Mon instead if the right person was only available on Mon). No other home duties aside from lunch and snack preparation are required. He is a very brave and active boy and it would help if you are happy to kick/throw a ball and investigate insects in the garden etc! Continuity is essential and we are searching for someone who can be with us for 2021 until prep commences at the end of Jan 2022 and possibly continue with some before and after school care. (This Tuesday could possibly be a Monday instead if the right person was only available on Mondays not Tuesdays). No other home duties aside from lunch and snack preparation are required, just caring for, playing with and teaching him through kindy type activities if possible.
