Hi, we are a friendly couple in Banks (south Canberra) looking for an in-home child care provider for three days a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 7.30am to 2.30pm-ish to look after our 11 week old son. This will be a long term position and would work for someone who could then go on to do the after-school run for another family. Mum has chronic fatigue, so will be home during this time for breast feeding, but we need someone for all other baby-related activities – pram walking, play, nappy change, settling etc etc. We are hoping to find someone by September 30th (Yes, end of this month!). But, for us to access the child care rebate, you’ll need to become a contractor to Communities@Work. • Must be at least 18 years old • Successful interview and referee checks • Hold a minimum Certificate III in Children’s Service • Current first aid qualification HLTAID004 - Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting • Working with vulnerable people registration check • Police check (no less than six months old) • Complete a PRODA registration • Obtain a medical clearance • Hold public liability insurance • Orientation training at Communities@Work (cost covered by us) • Non-smoker (due to Mum’s allergies, we are a chemical free household) Communities@work will provide the following support: • Access to electronic attendance records • Professional development opportunities • Access to the services six playgroups that operate across the ACT each week • Regular support visits So yes, we're looking for a long term, 3 day a week at-home child carer! Hi, I am due to give birth early to mid October. We don’t have family or friends who are able to help out with our 2 1/2year old. We wanted to know if you would be willing to come to our home and look after our toddler while we are in hospital? It would also be ideal to do some visits before that so she will be familiar with you when the baby is on the way. We were hoping someone could be flexible not just in the daytime but also overnight and with short notice.
