Hello my name is Jennifer and I am 54 years old, a grand mother of two beautiful little boys that I adore. I am from KY and moved to Illinois in my early twenties to be a live in nanny. I enjoyed so very much watching the children, teaching them, watching them grow and the love that I felt for the family and them. It was a beautiful experience that I found myself wanting, I have two of the most wonderful children of my own, that I had the privilege to be home and raise myself, in the time frame I would babysit other children and enjoyed every minute of it. My kids are older now and adults, I have my granbabies that are my happiness. I have found myself missing the life and pleasure of taking care of little ones. I am 20 years old. I am currently enrolled in college studying Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education. I am responsible, trustworthy and reliable. I love being around kids and I've been babysitting/ providing childcare since I was around 10 years old. I also have worked professionally in childcare since I was 17. I have been the lead teacher in three separate classrooms. I am also CPR and first aid certified.

I started working in a nursing home at the age of 16 and fell in love with it. The elderly have so many stories to tell and I especially love working with the veterans. Being a veteran myself, Veterans hold a special place in my heart. I am CPR Certified, fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as well as annual flu vaccination. I have reliable transportation and am very dependable. In the state of Kentucky I held a dual certification in Treatment Technician and Medication Technician from Madisonville Community College then entered the military, married a soldier then moved to Sulphur after our military obligations ended. I have worked with animal rescues my entire life, and worked as a kennel boarding attendant for 2 years, where my job duties were -feeding/watering/walking on schedule -administering medicine and bathing -cleaning the kennels/ yard I have mostly worked with dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and more than one at a time, and though I am open to watching/caring for pets outside of cats and dogs. I honestly enjoy taking care of animals and would love to assist caring for some more!

I worked as a CNA in Sebree Kentucky. I love caring for people I feel that it gives my life a purpose. I earned my CNA through Madisonville Community College where I plan to return to finish my nursing career. I strongly believe in treating others how I would want others to treat my own family. I knew nursing was the career I was born to pursue from a very early age of about 8 or 9 when I helped my grandmother change her colostomy and urostomy bags while the home health nurses were away. I would ride with her on the grits bus and transferred her on many occasions from bed to wheelchair and wheelchair back to bed. She required a lot of assistance because of a disease that had her paralyzed from the waist down.

Many people, including most of my friends say they knew exactly what they wanted to be when they grew up, and they ended up being exactly that, but my story is different, not because I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up, but because my life took a turn in different direction, and to be honest, I have never been happier. I have always had very good people skills, patience, compassion, a great sense of humor and a soft spot for people in need. When I first moved to the United States from Africa (Uganda), I was sure that I was going to pursue my master's in social works and social sciences (since I had got my bachelor's in the same field back home) Well, things did not go as planned, and my sister encouraged me to get a certificate in nursing, and I did. I was discouraged in the beginning until I got my very first job, as a home health aide for a wonderful woman who had just been admitted on hospice. I took care of her 12 hours a day, Monday through Friday. It was difficult in the beginning because in my culture, nobody talks openly about death and dying, but I learned a lot from this woman. Then as I got comfortable with the job, I couldn't help to notice that everyday on my way home from work, I had a feeling I had never had before with any other job (because I worked while I went to school as a sales person in a mobile store, I also had a job while in high school at a gas station) This feeling was a wonderful feeling. I felt like I was making a difference in some one's life, and her entire family. I felt fulfilled, and for the very first time in my adult life, I had a purpose. I also found myself looking forward to going to work in the morning. That's when it hit me, caring for people was exactly where I belonged, and I have never looked back or had any regrets!! I have been in the field for 8 years now, have worked as a CNA in hospitals and Home health Aide in private homes and facilities. I love what I do, and I do it with a lot of compassion, respect, patience and love.
