I've worked in multiple residental settings that offer care to people from different ages with a variety of needs (personal care, social support, daytime activities). I immediatly fell in love with the job and the people I worked with. I believe that being a careworker is more then providing support. It's about forming a relationship together, to build on trust and be attentive to the needs and goals of the person you're working with. I've been told I have a patient and warm demeanor. I've a critical eye when it comes to inclusion and self determination, but mainly I enjoy working with people and try to find the humour in life.
