About

Wildcats everywhere, it’s time to make Stages history with our first ever fall musical for students in Grades 5-9: HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!

*Students in 4th grade will be allowed to enroll with program permission. Please contact emily@stageschicago.org if you are interested in enrolling your 4th grader.

Stages’s unique approach to working with middle schoolers focuses as much on the process as it does the product, allowing young performers to learn audition technique, participate in character and scene study, and learn the fundamentals of song interpretation while rehearsing a fully staged production. Classes are taught by a team of professional teaching artists with years of experience both in the classroom and on professional stages, and features a customized curriculum that will challenge and showcase the strengths of each young performer in the cast.

Stages was created by a professional performer turned child development specialist with the primary goal of helping children develop the foundational skills and technique every musical theater performer needs while giving them the opportunity to find their voice, build confidence, and do what every budding Broadway Star loves most: PERFORM!

PRODUCTION ADMIN FEE INCLUDES:
*4 tickets to our production of High School Musical JR (Additional tickets will be available to purchase closer to the performance)
*Scripts & other class materials
*Costumes (Families will NOT be asked to go out and purchase items for the show but may be asked to bring clothing you already own.)
*Props & Sets
*Week Long Theater Rental (Location will be announced once our cast size is finalized.)
TECH WEEK WILL BE THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 16 & PERFORMANCES WILL TAKE PLACE DECEMBER 20 & 21.

*Students enrolled in the Thursday/Saturday option will attend class at Soul City Church on Thursday & Drucker Center on Saturday.
*Students enrolled in the Tuesday/Saturday option will attend class at Drucker Center both days.

AFTER SCHOOL PICK-UP: Stages offers free after school pick-up from British International School Chicago, Lincoln Park for students who are enrolled in extended day programs. Pick-up will be approximately 20min before the start of class to give us enough time to gather students and walk over to The Drucker Center.
