[ALL L.I.T. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED 6TH GRADE.]

During the Leaders in Training (LIT) program participants will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills in teamwork, leadership, goal setting, and effective strategies for achieving their goals. Each participant will be paired with a group of younger campers for part or all of the day, depending on the number of enrolled participants in both programs.

This mentorship experience allows our Leaders in Training to practice their new skills in a hands-on environment while making a positive impact on the younger campers. Under instructor supervision, LITs will lead activities, help enforce rules during activities and assist with equipment setup and takedown. In addition to leadership training, LITs will also engage in a variety of fun camp activities, such as Gaga Ball, 9-Square, and more, ensuring a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.

All LITs will be responsible for submitting a daily breakdown of what they learned and worked on while observing the instructor(s) they're matched with. The effort put into these daily reports will determine whether the service hours are approved, with the potential to earn up to 1 hours of service per week. If we have enough participants to assign a staff member to this program, an hour or more of each day will be spent in a classroom-style setting to dive deeper into various topics.

[Participant Expectations]

Commitment & Punctuality: Participants are expected to be on time for all scheduled activities and to commit fully to the program's duration.

Respect & Responsibility: Treat fellow participants, campers, and instructors with respect. Demonstrate responsibility by adhering to program guidelines and instructions.

Active Participation: Engage actively in all activities, both as leaders and learners. Use the opportunity to develop and refine leadership skills.

Daily Reports: Submit a detailed daily breakdown of what you learned and worked on, paying particular attention to the observations of the instructor(s) you're matched with.

Attitude & Effort: Maintain a positive attitude and put forth your best effort in all tasks. Your dedication and enthusiasm will determine the approval of your service hours.

Mentorship Role: Lead activities, help enforce rules, and assist with equipment setup and takedown under instructor supervision.

Classroom Sessions: If applicable, attend and participate in the classroom-style sessions to delve deeper into various leadership and teamwork topics.

Behavior Guidelines: Follow all standard behavior guidelines and regular camp rules as defined in the general welcome packet.

Pursue Personal Growth: Continuously strive to become the best version of yourself. Embrace challenges, learn from experiences, and aim for personal and leadership development.

Feedback & Improvement: Be open to receiving feedback and working on areas of improvement while learning basic concepts about teambuilding and leadership. The program is designed to help you grow and succeed as a future leader.

*Availability for this program is limited each week based on the number of campers at other programs.

*The program being held at this location is for All Saints Catholic School Students only. Anyone who is not a current student will be denied enrollment.

*We aim to maintain a 1:14 staff to participant ratio, ideally with at least 2 staff members at each site, but cannot guarantee such.

*Food is not provided. Lunchtime supervision for participants staying all day or between Rec Academy sponsored programs is provided.

*In case of inclement weather, we will take shelter inside the school. If it's going to rain all day, we will adjust our programming to make staying inside fun.

*More instructions about drop off and pickup will be emailed to all those registered exactly 10 days prior to the designated start date of the session. If you register after this date or do not receive an email, please be sure to reach out to us at support@therecreationacademy.com. Don't forget to include your program name, session start date, participant(s) names and location in your email.
