About

It's 2024! You asked and we created it! This is Highest Speak's first ever tournament-based course for our students! In this 8-class (2 hours each) series, every class will include a brief lesson on a particular public speaking area (impromptu, persuasive speech, comedic speeches, pitches, debate, storytelling, informative speech etc.) and a public speaking challenge in which students will COMPETE!

Every week, there will be a winner or possibly more than one. Games may be individual or in teams. We will have a combination of "on the spot" speaking contests as well as writing and then presenting. Judging will be based on following directions, following the taught structures and techniques, performance techniques, and creativity! Students will also be given feedback each week to continuously improve their performances. We may also have guest judges!

Please note, these competitions are meant to be fun for the students and encourage their positive competitive spirit and public speaking confidence. If students are oversensitive about winning, this may not be the course for them!

*** NO PREREQUISITES! This will be fun for our experienced and newer students!

Please bring a notebook, writing utensils, and a water bottle.
