Homeschool Communication Crew: A High-Energy Public Speaking Series for Ages 11-14
Welcome to Highest Speak’s “Homeschool Communication Crew!”—an exciting, high-energy public speaking series designed for homeschoolers ages 11-14. The preteen and teen years are crucial for developing strong communication skills, and this 5-session, 5 session, 7.5-class-hours course is the perfect opportunity for young speakers to build confidence, improve public speaking skills, and connect with others in a supportive community.

We know that the preteen and teen years are pivotal for self-expression and effective communication, and this is when skills like public speaking and presenting become especially important for academic success, social relationships, and future career opportunities. That’s why our program is specifically designed to meet the needs of this age group, incorporating assignments, games, and content that they can relate to and connect with.

Each student will receive a detailed class packet with materials to support their learning and practice.

In every lively and engaging session, students will:

LEARN

Master core public speaking skills and explore various styles, such as persuasive speeches, storytelling, and informative talks;
Develop strategies to reduce public speaking anxiety and feel confident in any situation—whether in front of a group or in casual conversation;
Build positive daily habits for effective communication and public speaking;
Improve writing skills to enhance clarity and structure in their presentations;
Explore different types of public speaking, including persuasive, informational, and storytelling techniques that will serve them well in school and life.
DO

Practice impromptu speaking as well as prepared assignments with topics that resonate with them;
Participate in activities and games that directly relate to their interests, ensuring they stay engaged while learning valuable skills;
Present to the group, receive constructive feedback from instructors and peers, and learn how to refine their speaking and writing skills with every opportunity.
IMPROVE

Receive personalized feedback on their speaking to help them grow as confident and effective communicators;
Get individualized guidance on written assignments to help them improve structure, clarity, and impact.
CONNECT

Become part of a homeschool communication community where ideas are shared, friendships are formed, and creativity thrives;
Engage in group activities and discussions designed to build social confidence and help students make lasting friendships.
Every class is packed with high-energy activities, exciting public speaking games, and plenty of opportunities to practice new skills in a fun and engaging environment. We gear our assignments and games toward things preteens and teens care about, so they’ll stay engaged and motivated while improving their communication skills. With small class sizes, every child gets the attention they need. For larger classes, two dynamic instructors ensure every student gets individualized support.

Our professional instructors, with backgrounds in teaching, stand-up comedy, and performance, bring both fun and expertise to every session, making sure each class is as educational as it is enjoyable.

Note: Assignments may be given and are expected to be completed for maximum growth. Practicing skills outside of class is encouraged to help students fully apply what they’ve learned.
