This Three hour hand-building workshop introduces key sculptural elements from Seuil's work, including a fenced platform and a central pillar with handles and organic protrusions. Participants will create pieces approximately 8 x 8 x 9 inches (L x W x H). In this workshop, Seuil will demonstrate unique ways to work with coils and slabs while encouraging participants to consider the juxtaposition of separate ceramic parts within a cohesive whole.
Unlimited clay is included for the duration fo the workshop. Participants may come back the next day from 12-3pm to do finishing touches to the sculpture. Participants will have 2 months to come back and glaze.

ABOUT:
Seuil Chung is an artist based in Chicago, Illinois. Chung works with hand-built ceramic objects that explore the psychologies of sensuality and corporeal desires. He is an artist-in-residence at the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago, Illinois. Chung received his BFA in Studio Art at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019 and his MFA in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2021.
Chung’s recent solo exhibitions include “Magic Show” at Lillstreet Art Center (Chicago, IL), “I Love You” at Concept Art Gallery (Pittsburgh, PA), and “Mouse Hunt” at KINK Contemporary Gallery (Cleveland, OH). He also exhibited at the Akron Art Museum as one of the exhibiting artists for the FRONT: International 2022 (Akron, OH).
