In this 2 day workshop we will learn the foundations of mold making and slip casting. Students will make a 2-part plaster mold that can be used to duplicate the same ceramic piece multiple times. Your instructor Jessamin Jensen will teach plaster mixing, mapping a successful mold, and slip pouring. No experience is necessary although previous clay experience is helpful. Participants will complete the workshop with one mold and at least one ceramic piece ready for firing. All materials will be provided. Please bring a selection of 3-5 simple objects that could be used to cast in a mold.
