My name is Christine. I am a mom of six children and I home schooled all of them. I am a licensed daycare located in Elgin, west of Randall Rd. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I also teach a full preschool curriculum during school year, piano, and have circle time with the little ones singing and playing little instruments. We do many crafts and read lots of books! We love playing games and spending a lot of time outside playing. I work to help children build self-confidence and self-esteem as a result of positive daily experiences. I want children to feel safe and loved and to be in a family oriented environment in which children can express their creativity, develop social skills, grow intellectually, and build trusting relationships. I have a beautiful big fenced in backyard and I am walking distance to a lovely park. I love children and I love watching them grow and learn. I have many years of experience with infants and multiples.

Kathryn's Nanny/Babysitting Service

My name is Kathryn Miller and an experienced babysitter/nanny and mother. I am looking for a stable, long-term nanny position with a child near the age of my own (born early March, 2017). I would also be amenable to care in my home for a lower rate. I am also happy to take a part-time position if hours and compensation are adequate for my own budget. I strongly believe based on both my education and mother's intuition that babies and young toddlers benefit from a more home-like setting with more cuddles and a less rigid schedule. I do believe in encouraging an age-appropriate measure of independent play, but I also believe that, if possible, it's better to pick up a baby before they become too upset. In my care, babies receive frequent diaper changes, age appropriate exercise, sensory play, time outside when weather allows, music time, book time, silly baby games, cuddling, and Spanish time. I also take care of oral hygiene if with them a full day, and I make sure they get the rest they need. I can give baths once in a while if you're busy (or after a diaper explosion). I also keep a record of your child's day so you know how their day went. If care is in my home: Field Trips to the Gail Borden library are taken regularly year round. Field trips that require an extra measure of safety are taken when I have assistance from my husband or mother (a registered nurse). Examples would be: the swimming pool, nature centers, and seasonal outings. (I take care of expenses.) If care is in your home, I'm happy to go to your local library/pool, with parents responsible for any extra expenses. Additional information regarding myself: *I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Elmhurst College with a focus on Education. *I am CPR & First Aid Certified: adults and children. *Three years experience as a live-out nanny for child from age 1-4 (Reference information provided to serious inquirers). *Non-smoking. *Experience as a teacher's aide, ages 3-18, in school settings in the USA and Ecuador. Experience with younger children/babies in church nursery. *Fluent in the Spanish language via schooling in the United States, and Ecuador service trips with Habitat for Humanity through my church, and a semester abroad through the International Service Learning Program. *I've taken coursework in nutrition as a part of my education curriculum. Foods are always fresh and healthy-sugary treats are reserved for special occasions only.

Miss Mindy's Daycare has 2 immediate spots available. If you are looking for an educational, fun, loving environment for your child/children you have found the right place. Miss Mindy's Daycare is my in-home daycare ran by me Mindy Swanson. I am an early childhood educator with 10+ years of experience. I have experience teaching and caring for children ages birth to 5+ years old. Children have always been a major part of my life. As a teen my main job was babysitting and couldn't wait for the day I'd have my own children. I got married and was a stay at home mom for our 2 children until my youngest started Kindergarten. It was after helping in their classrooms that I realized I was meant to be an early childhood teacher and went back to school and got my degree. I taught at King of Glory Lutheran Preschool were both my children had attended, for 7 years, then worked for The Learning Tree in Elgin as a lead Pre-K teacher for 3 years. A few years ago I felt I was called to teach and care for children out of my home. It has been wonderful watching the children I care for grow and flourish. One of the best things about my business is the lifelong relationships I have made with the families I have cared for. My family loves having the children in our home, they bring us great joy. My husband Jeff and I have two children who aren't so little anymore. My son is 20 and attends Elgin Community College and my daughter is 17 and is a Senior in High School. Both will be going away to school in the fall. Having the children in our home has taught our kids about the growth and development of young children. It's awesome to watch our kids play and interact with the children. I look at it as practice for when they have their own families someday. The children I care for not only have fun while they are here but they are also learning. I teach using developmentally appropriate activities. I believe in hands-on activities where children can explore and be curious, coming up with their own questions about the theme we are learning about. We work on social and emotional skills, then as they get older we move onto colors, letters, numbers, and counting etc. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided daily. The children also have a napping schedule, 2-5-year-olds take a 2-hour nap in the afternoon and infants are as needed. Please contact me if you are looking for a fun and educational environment for your child/children.
