Our mission is to provide developmentally appropriate experiences in a Christian environment which will enable each child to achieve her or his full potential as an individual and in relationship with God and others. Enrollment is open to all, without regard to race or religion. 2 year old program - One half day per week designed as a first school experience for our littlest ones. Young 3 year old program - Designed for those children who miss the August 31 cut-off date for the three year old program. 3 year old program - Two half days per week 4 year old program - Three half days per week Full day 4 year old program - A full day program for those children who are ready for a longer day. 5 year old program - This program bridges the gap for the child who needs the gift of an extra year before kindergarten. The program is for the child who is age eligible for kindergarten, but is not quite ready in some areas. Lunch and Play - an extension of the school day for students attending our 3's, 4's or 5's classes. Program runs 5 days per week. Enrichment Classes available for our 3 and 4 year olds, which adds an additional half day class based on either children's literature or theme based classes.

Shining Stars Nursery School at the Baptist Church of West Chester is excited to begin its second year this September! Our school opened in 2014 with a three-year-old class. This year, we have expanded our program to offer a class for four-year-olds as well. The mission of our program is to promote the well-rounded development of each child by providing a positive, nurturing preschool experience in a Christian environment. We strive to foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Our school is open to all regardless of race, religion, or socioeconomic status. We believe that it is important to support all aspects of each child s development and to provide a foundation for future learning. Socialization is an important focus of our program, so children have many opportunities to interact with their classmates in both structured and free play environments. Our curriculum is based around themes throughout the year and incorporates Pennsylvania s Early Learning Standards. A typical day in our nursery school begins with free play and learning centers as students arrive. Students can engage in a variety of activities, such as blocks, reading books, dramatic play, art, puzzles, games, and other rotating activities. This is followed by circle time, which includes read-alouds and literacy and numeracy activities. Following circle times, students enjoy a snack together, encouraging both motor skills and social interactions. Each day, there is an art and/or science project, followed by music and movement activities and additional time for free play and small group instruction. Our time together closes with a second circle time during which we focus on our Bible story or monthly character trait, such as courage or patience. We currently have openings for three- and four-year-olds for the 2015-2016 school year.
