The mission of Southport Baptist Church Weekday Preschool is to encourage preschoolers to develop socially, physically, mentally, emotionally, morally, and spiritually, toward their God-given potential. The Weekday Preschool Program runs a half day program during the school year from 8:30am to12:00pm, Monday through Friday for students age 2 to 5. We also have a Mothers' Morning Out program Monday and Friday for 1 year old's.
As a ministry of Southport Baptist Church since 1974, the Preschool has
provided a nurturing environment in which preschoolers can develop socially through play with other children. By encouraging communication
skills, sharing, and getting along with others in large and small groups, we
strive to develop responsible behavior. Our staff will provide situations in
which each preschooler can succeed in order to develop a healthy selfconcept.
Southport Baptist Weekday Preschool helps to prepare preschoolers for
formal schooling and introduces them to developing appropriate life
skills. We provide an academically sound curriculum, Bible stories, Christian music, prayer, and other age appropriate methods of learning. This
is based on sound early childhood principles. Some of the benefits of
preschool include growth in the ability to: listen, follow simple directions, concentrate, share, understand feelings, use imagination and materials constructively, and persevere to complete a task. These methods
encourage the development of positive self-esteem.
Southport Baptist Weekday Preschool strives to minister to our preschoolers and the important individuals in their lives. It is the desire of the
