You know you’re a babysitter if …

You know you’re a babysitter if …

Whenever I find out that somebody I know is also a babysitter, I instantly feel bonded with them. When you’re swapping stories with other babysitters, you start to notice that babysitting, while hard sometimes, is really just funny and weird and lovely.

Here are some definitive signs that, yes, you are definitely a babysitter.

1. You’re used to a little mess.

2. You’re skilled in providing unique sweet treats.

3. … and the classic ones, as well.

4. Caffeine is very important to you.

5. You think the family dog is just as cute as the kids.

6. You know your way around a lightsaber (and your Jedi skills are unmatched).

7. You know how to tuck a doll in for bed.

8. … or even a real baby!

9. It sometimes gets in the way of the rest of your life (but you don’t mind).

10. You know how to get creative.

11. You understand the magic of glow-in-the-dark.

12. You’re proud of your kid’s accomplishments, no matter how small.

13. You luck out with the best views.

14. The kids you babysit a lot become like family.

15. You never know what to expect.

17. Babysitting can turn your whole day around.

18. At the end of the day, it’s all worth it.
