  • It’s free! Who doesn’t like free stuff that can make life easier?
  • It’s the fastest way to find a reliable caregiver who can start right away.
  • It does the searching for you by “recruiting” the top caregivers in your area. On average, a job post receives up to 10 replies.
  • Responses usually start coming in within hours – we harness the power of the web to make sure that local carers see your job!
  • We’ll email you when new carers in your area join Care.com.

Bonus: While your job post does the work for you, you’re free to take care of other things on your to-do list, like run errands, get work done or plan dinner. Who knows, you might even find time to breathe.

Posting a job on Care.com takes just a few minutes, and can save you a lot of time and energy using less dependable methods. We know how busy you are, so there are just 3 easy steps.

Step 1: Decide what your needs are
Start by asking yourself the following questions:

  • How often do you need care and when?
  • What’s your budget?
  • What tasks and responsibilities do you want the caregiver to handle?

Be honest and specific about your needs – it will help you write a job post that attracts the right candidates for you.

Step 2: Use our easy job posting
Cover all the key details you want applicants to know, from dates and times to pay rate. Then list specific responsibilities as bullet points, like this:

  • Daily homework help
  • Light meal prep
  • Driving children to and from school

Once you submit your job post, our safety-trained team checks to make sure it doesn’t contain anything that could be unsafe for your family. Then we let you know once your job post is approved.

Step 3: Hire more confidently!
Once your job is posted, carers reply using our moderated messaging system that monitors for spam, scams and inappropriate content. Then it’s just a matter of narrowing down your choices:

We’re all about making your care search a little easier so you can focus on finding the best fit for your family.

A great job post helps the perfect caregiver find you. So follow our proven tips when posting a job on Care.com!

Job Post Do’s

  • Do write a catchy title – Be yourself and include key details like type of caregiver you need, number of children, and part-time or full-time.
  • Do list responsibilities and requirements – This will tell caregivers what you want and save you time later when making a first day checklist for the person you hire.
  • Do be specific about schedule – Be clear about the days and hours you need help, and say how long the job will last (a week, a year, etc.).
  • Do include age(s) of who needs care – Carers need to know if you have a toddler, an 80-year old mother or a puppy who needs housetraining.
  • Do mention your town or neighbourhood – “Wimbledon” or “Edgbaston, Birmingham” is good enough, don’t include street names.

Job Post Don’ts

  • Don’t write a two-line job post – Being too brief will flood you with replies from carers who don’t meet your needs because they don’t know what you want exactly.
  • Don’t write in ALL CAPS – It makes your job post harder to read (the same goes for typos, so remember to check for grammar and spelling).
  • Don’t embellish – Carers understand that no family is perfect, so don’t feel the need to say “my children never fight” if that’s not true.
  • Don’t include overly personal information – Stay away from phone numbers, specific locations and names of family members (our trained safety team will remove them for you, but your job post will be approved faster if you don’t include details like that in the first place).
  • Don’t expect the first applicant to be “the one” – It might take time to find the best fit, so stay patient and positive.
