This just isn’t IKEA’s year.
Late last Thursday, IKEA announced that it was recalling 80,000 of its PATRULL, PATRULL FAST, and PATRULL KLÄMMA safety gates and safety gate extensions due to a faulty locking mechanism.
According to the recall release published on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website, the locking mechanism that keeps the gate in place can open unexpectedly and pose a serious fall hazard to young children.
IKEA has already received 55 reports of such incidents occurring worldwide, with 10 of them involving injuries like concussions, cuts, and bruising. Four of those incidents were reported in the U.S.
