The highly-anticipated sequel will hit movie theaters in 2019.
We have some important news to share (DRUMROLL, PLEASE!) … “Frozen 2” has a release date!
Disney Animation took to social media to announce that the highly-anticipated sequel will hit theaters on Nov. 27, 2019. While “Frozen” fans still have a ways to go before the return of the royal sisters, the internet exploded with excitement after the announcement.
“OMG I’m actually excited to see this movie my little cousin has been obsessed with this movie since the day it came out. Ever since the movie came out my cousin’s birthday parties have always been about ‘Frozen’ and with this movie coming out she can continue her love for ‘Frozen,’” Jessica Dias Beharry wrote on Facebook.
“Oh my goodness!!!!!! This is so exciting! We will definitely be having more ‘Frozen’ birthday parties.. Lol,” wrote Amanda Swadley on Facebook.
Disney Animation announced the sequel in 2015, and now “Frozen 2” will make its big-screen debut exactly six years after the original made its way into the lives of children everywhere.
“What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn’t just put something out to put it out,” Kristen Bell, who voices Princess Anna, told Collider. “That’s why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. Generally, when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it.”
While the plot details of the movie haven’t been released, we know that the original cast will be back, including Bell and Idina Menzel, who is the voice behind big sister Queen Elsa of Arendelle.
“Quick weather forecast from your favorite Disney princess’ sister: Theaters are gonna get ‘Frozen’ on November 27, 2019! Woo Hoo!!!!” Bell tweeted.
“It’s happening! All my Elsas say ho!” Menzel tweeted.
Parents, will you take your children to see “Frozen 2,” or will you avoid the movie theater mayhem?
