Just in Time for Summer: Consumer Reports’ 2016 Best and Worst Sunscreens

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls: it’s that time of year for Consumer Reports’ fourth annual Sunscreen Guide for 2016!

This year, Consumer Reports tested over 60 different lotions, sprays and sticks that boast an SPF of 30 or higher. Apparently, 43 percent of them failed to live up to their SPF label…that’s definitely no bueno, considering that this included a lot of kids’ lotions, too.

Fortunately, Today’s Parent shared a list of Consumer Reports’ top 10 picks for lotions this summer:

  • La Roche Posay – Anthelios 60 Melt-In Sunscreen Milk (SPF 60)
  • Neutrogena – Beach Defense Water + Sun Protection (SPF 70)
  • Ocean Potion – Protect & Nourish Sunscreen Lotion (SPF 30)
  • No-Ad – Sport Sunblock Lotion (SPF 50)
  • Up & Up – Ultra Sheer (SPF 30)
  • Equate – Ultra Protection (SPF 50)
  • Aveeno – Protect + Hydrate (SPF 30)
  • Equate – Sport Sunscreen Continuous Spray (SPF 30)
  • Banana Boat – SunComfort Continuous Spray (SPF 50+)
  • Avon – Sun+ Sunscreen Face Lotion (SPF 40)

What’s your sunscreen of choice for the summertime?
