It really is a dog’s life this Halloween with this easy and inexpensive costume — just be careful he doesn’t eat his own homework!
Materials:
- 4 8-inch x 11-inch sheets of brown felt
- Scissors
- Hot glue
- Tan hooded sweatshirt
- Tan or brown sweatpants
- Tan mittens
- 1 18-inch x 2-foot sheet of brown felt
- Black eyeliner
- Safety pins
Step 1: To make dog-ears, cut floppy-shaped ear shapes out of 8-inch x 11-inch sheet of brown felt. Next, cut different shaped “spots” outs of remaining 8-inch x 11-inch sheets of brown felt, about six inches in diameter. About three or four spots should be sufficient, but it is entirely up to you.
Step 2: With sweatshirt laid flat on a table, hot glue ears to either side of the hood. Hot glue spots in a random pattern on the back of the sweatshirt.
Step 3: To make the tail, take the remaining 18-inch x 24-inch sheet of brown felt and cut a 2-inch by 24-inch rectangle. Attach tail to the seat of sweatpants using hot glue gun or safety pins.
Step 4: Put on outfit: sweatshirt, sweatpants, and mittens. Using eyeliner, draw a little filled-in circle on the tip of your child’s nose and three whiskers on each cheek.
