How to Make a Cookie and Milk Costume

This DIY chocolate chip cookie Halloween costume will be the sweetest treat on the block.

How to Make a Cookie and Milk Costume

Have a cookie lover in the house? Whether you’re a slice n’ baker or make your treats from scratch, here are the easy instructions and ingredients you need to turn your cookie monster into a human-sized cookie.

Materials:

  • Tan bed sheet
  • Hula hoop (for tracing)
  • Fabric glue
  • Black felt
  • Pillow stuffing, polyfill
  • Brown ribbon
  • Hot glue
  • Canvas bag
  • Letter stencils
  • Red paint
  • Sponge for sponge paints

Step 1: Trace four circles onto the tan bed sheet using the hula hoop as a guide. Cut them out and use the fabric glue to attach each pair of circles together. Leave space large enough for your hand to fit inside. Once glue is dry, turn cookie layers inside out (so rough edges will be on the inside). You should now have two, two-layer tan circles.

Step 2: To make your chocolate chips, draw 10-12 large chip shapes on the black felt. (Tip: we drew a 3-inch triangle with rounded corners and a curl at the top). Cut them out.

Step 3: Stuff each tan circle with pillow stuffing and glue the opening shut. Glue your chocolate chips to one side of both stuffed cookies. Finally, cut four pieces of ribbon about 10 inches long. Hot glue two pieces to the top of each cookie pillow, about 8-10 inches apart from each other. These will serve as straps.

Step 4:  For your trick-or-treat “Milk” bag, take a white canvas bag and stencil the word “Milk” across the middle. We used a sponge to do this quickly. Just touch up the edges with a paintbrush afterward.
