First-time dad George Clooney recently opened up about expecting twins with wife Amal Clooney, and it’s pretty adorable.
“We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure,” he said during a recent interview with Us Weekly. “We’ve embraced it with arms wide open.”
The twins — a boy and a girl — are expected to arrive in June, according to Julie Chen, host of “The Talk” on CBS. Chen was the first to officially break the news of Amal’s pregnancy in the United States after a family friend let it slip to the press.
George said his friends have been very supportive about his future fatherhood, but have also taken the time to tease him.
“There was like a table of eight guys and all their kids are away in college, and they’re all sitting there being very supportive, telling me it’s great and that I’m gonna love it,” George said. “Then it got really quiet and they all just started making baby crying noises and the whole table just busted up laughing. It’s going to change a lot of things, but you know, that’s life.”
The Oscar-winning actor and his human rights attorney wife have been married since 2014. Amal, busy saving the world, hasn’t sat down with the press to discuss the arrival of her twins. George’s mom shared how she and her husband, Nick Clooney, found out.
“We were with them, and they told us together,” Nina Clooney. “We were all together, and it was lovely. It was just a personal moment.”
And Nina didn’t hold back on excitement about grandbabies.
“We are extremely happy for George and Amal,” she said. “I cannot imagine two people who would be better parents.”
