OK, this guy deserves to win Dad of the Year for his quick-thinking parenting skills.
When Ben Sowards got the call that his daughter, Valerie, had an accident at school, he went above and beyond the call of duty: He threw water on his pants to match the embarrassed 6-year-old.
The girl’s older sister, Lucinda Sowards, tweeted:
My little sis had an accident today at kindergarten & this is how my dad left to pick her up so she wouldn’t feel so sad/embarrassed ??❤️ pic.twitter.com/veHMFO4QHr

When the Utah dad arrived at the elementary school, he asked his young daughter if he could use her backpack to cover up his accident, immediately relieving any stress and humiliation for Valerie.
“She was totally exasperated. But, once she saw my pants, I got that look from her where I knew everything was OK. All dads know what look I’m talking about,” Sowards said to the Huffington Post. “And we just strolled out of the school like nothing was happening.”
Dad to the rescue!
“Honestly, I knew she was mortified, but I thought if I could make her laugh, everything would be fine,” Sowards said.
Social media users are praising the doting dad, calling him a “superhero,” “legend,” and “amazing.” Lucinda’s tweet featuring her dad’s endearing getup has over 63,000 retweets and more than 256,000 likes.
