Everyone loves to dress up for Halloween, but when you have a little one in a stroller, it can be difficult to find a costume that’s just right. Why not try dressing up your baby’s stroller, instead? There are so many fun costumes to choose from; it’ll be great fun for both you and your baby!
Katrina Moline, a Texas mom and blogger won an award for a jungle-themed wagon she decorated for her baby. “I went to the dollar store and bought anything related. I hot-glued plastic fringe garland around the bottom, little plastic snakes all over and hung stuffed monkeys from the umbrella. It was so much fun and got a lot of attention.”
Here are eight stroller Halloween costumes for inspiration. Ask your babysitter or nanny to help decorate the carriage in time for trick-or-treating or Halloween celebrations.
-
Presidential Baby Stroller
Inspire your future President of the United States of America, with this costume. All you need is some black cloth, White House logo print-outs, a box for your podium, small American flags and a little suit for your little girl or man! -
Mermaid
Dress your child in a mermaid tail and turn the stroller into the sea. If you don’t have time to make the individual sea creatures, pick some up from the Dollar Store and glue them on. -
Fire Truck
This costume is proof that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to create something fun — this one only cost three dollars to create! Use items found around your house, like cardboard boxes and construction paper. Boys and girls alike will love climbing into their very own fire truck and racing off to save the day — or just get candy. -
Pirate Ship
Build a pirate ship around the stroller for a yo-ho-ho-ing Halloween. For pirate’s booty, stop by your favorite party store and pick up some plastic necklaces and gold coins and glue from your handmade paper treasure chest. -
Cabbage Patch
Reminisce about your favorite Cabbage Patch Kids doll with this costume. All it takes is a box big enough to fit around your stroller, some yellow wrapping paper, a logo and a green blanket. -
Back to the Future
Turn your little one into Marty McFly and your stroller into a Delorean with this costume. It’s a little complicated, but movie fans will love pushing this carriage around on Halloween. -
Frog Prince Kissing Booth
Six different materials make up this costume, and it looks oh-so-cute when it’s finished! Your little boy will be barraged with kisses from all the ladies this Halloween as they each try to snag themselves a handsome prince. -
Star Wars
For lovers of the Star Wars movies, transform your stroller into AT-AT and your baby will have a one-of-a-kind ride. This costume may take a bit longer to complete than other costumes and you may need a bit of construction prowess, but it will certainly be worth the effort in the end.
And don’t forget to always remember that safety comes first when you’re creating your stroller costume. Leah Gillis, a contributor to Ideal Home Garden, warns about costume and Halloween night safety. Make sure materials are flame resistant, you can see where you’re going around the decorations and your baby is warm and comfortable, with nothing hanging in his or her face.
