The 5 Best Family-Friendly Coffee Shops in Las Vegas

Check out these five coffee shops where you can relax while the kids have fun!

Coffee is a must-have in the busy Las Vegas lifestyle, especially for those visiting from out of town or parents, babysitters, or nannies constantly on the move. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of caffeine in Sin City, and one of the benefits of the coffee options here is that — just like Las Vegas — they’re far from boring.

Sure, you’ll find a Starbucks just around the corner in a crunch (as you will in every city), but there are plenty more interesting options to give you and your family a unique, local experience.

Whether it’s the fun paintings from local artists hanging on the walls to a library or game area in the corner, these five shops scream, “Bring the kids in!”

Located in the heart of the strip at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino, Sambalatte is known around Las Vegas as an exciting coffee experience. The little ones will love the outside patio, and inside, they’ll tap their feet to nightly live music. (Don’t worry, it always starts at a reasonable hour.)

Its hip suburban feel and terrific coffee aside, this shop boasts an array of sandwiches, pastries, and even fruit smoothies for the little ones. Whether you’re sipping on Sambalatte’s popular Rainbow Latte or Cafe Au Lait, your kids can enjoy their favorite flavor cake pop, munch on some flavored pretzel sticks, or even develop a taste for macarons. With seating galore, you’ll nearly always find a good place to set up camp — and with dozens of books tucked away in the corner, your kids will always stay busy while you type away on your laptop or just relax at one of the best coffee shops in town.

As far as family-friendly coffee shops go, Holley’s Cuppa is the perfect choice for locals and tourists willing to travel outside the Strip. And if you’re making a trip out to Red Rock Canyon to hike, there’s a route that takes you right past this little gem with a mom-and-pop feel — drive-thru included! But if you’re going in, the kids will love it right when they step through the door. Art lines the walls, and in the back corner of the shop is a room just for them with games and toys, countless books, and a chalkboard wall.

For you? Holley’s Cuppa is known for its delicious flavored lattes, cold brew, breakfast food, pastries (Try their homemade cinnamon rolls!), and fruit smoothies. On a hot summer day, get the little ones a vanilla, chocolate, or white chocolate milkshake.

This is a more-high end option, but it’s one that certainly brings in the “wow” factor. Bringing it back to the Strip, Jean Philippe Patisserie’s locations are found in the Bellagio and the ARIA and are virtually impossible to ignore in passing. Most recognized by a large, cascading chocolate fountain right out front, you better have a sweet tooth going in — we sure know your kids will!

Decadent desserts — most notably crepes — are what this restaurant is known for, but don’t underestimate the coffee that you can choose to get hot, iced, or blended like a frappe. Sip on a caramel latte while your kids enjoy a hot chocolate — or on a hot summer day, let them cool off with an order of gelato in a waffle cone.

Grouchy John’s is as family-friendly as they come, with a fresh and colorful atmosphere and friendly staff, despite the curmudgeonly name. Also located off the Strip, this shop has killer coffee in more flavor options than you’re ready for. If you’re feeling adventurous, order the signature Grouchy John Latte, with white chocolate and amaretto together with espresso and steamed milk. They have fruit smoothies and specialty drinks for the kids. Make this either a breakfast outing with one of their delicious bagel sandwiches or a lunch outing by adding a wrap.

Inside is a mixture of table seating and comfortable couches, in case you feel like lounging around. If you’re looking for fresh air, worry not — one the best part about Grouchy John’s is the covered outdoor patio, providing the perfect amount of shade on a sunny day. Keep an eye on the shop’s Facebook page for upcoming events. Sometimes they even host painting classes!

Makers & Finders is the token urban coffee shop of Downtown Las Vegas, and while it often attracts a younger crowd, it’s a great family option, as well. This shop is serious about its espresso, so ordering from its long list of options at the espressos bar is a must. Also at this location is a coffee bar, matcha bar, tea bar, and a nice kids bar offering options like hot chocolate and organic orange juice.

Come any time of day, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options available. The outdoor patio provides comfortable bench seating and an area that allows kids to goof around without interrupting other diners. Fill up and get a chocolate croissant for the road!
