The 5 Best Outlet Malls in the Denver Area

Find out where you can shop ‘til you drop in the Denver Metro Area.

The 5 Best Outlet Malls in the Denver Area

There are two things that Coloradans love more than anything: Surrounding ourselves in all things nature, and nabbing an awesome bargain. And although there aren’t as many outlet malls as there are mountains in the Mile High City’s breathtaking view, we’ve identified the five shopping destinations where you can find the best deals in our area. Not only that, but these outlet malls are guaranteed to keep the kids entertained, too.

So, whether you’re going back-to-school shopping for the kiddos, or hunting down the perfect thank-you gift for your babysitter or nanny, these five outlet malls have got you covered.

Outlets at Castle Rock

My personal favorite mall and one that I’ve frequented the most, the Outlets at Castle Rock, is the largest outdoor outlet mall in the state. Although it’s 30 minutes south of Downtown Denver and about halfway to Colorado Springs, the outlets are super-convenient to get to with the location right off Interstate 25. Columbia, North Face, Carter’s, Polo Ralph Lauren, Restoration Hardware, Vera Bradley, Michael Kors, and Coach are just a few of the more than 100 stores at this mall.

The food options are slim (Burgers Plus, Qdoba, and Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen are a few of the scant offerings on property), but there are tons of nearby restaurants to choose from if you’re famished from shopping and looking for a full-service restaurant. Another tip: Some outlet stores offer military discounts, so be sure to check the list before making your purchases! During the summer, this mall also hosts outdoor concerts on the last Friday of the month, so you can top off your shopping trip with live music!

Outlets At Loveland

Address: 5661 McWhinney Blvd., Loveland, CO 80538
Hours: Monday, Wednesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. | Tuesday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. | Sunday,  11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Phone: 970-663-1916

This outlet mall is the perfect shopping mecca for people on the north side of town. The mall’s location off I-25 makes it a quick stop for those coming from Fort Collins and less than an hour drive from Downtown Denver. Smaller than the Outlets at Castle Rock, the Outlets at Loveland only offers 40 stores, but it has tons of options, like Gymboree, Under Armour, J. Crew, Nike, Gap, and Ann Taylor.

Cracker Barrel is the restaurant offering closest to the mall, but there are other options across the street at the Promenade Shops at Centerra or right next to the outlets on U.S. 34. If you’re making a trip out of your shopping excursion, head 20 minutes north to Fort Collins, which has tons of boutiques, bars, restaurants, and fun activities for the kiddos downtown in its Old Town, which is described as resembling Disneyland’s Main Street USA.

Outlets At Silverthorne

Address: 125 Stephens Way, Silverthorne, CO 80498
Hours: Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. | Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Phone: 866-746-7686

Although most might not think of heading to the mountains for a shopping spree, the Outlets at Silverthorne is a quick, hourlong drive from Downtown Denver off Interstate 70 and has convenient proximity to the ski resorts, if you’re making a weekend out of it. The shopping mecca is broken up into three villages that you can shuttle between via courtesy transportation.

The “Green Village” features the Colorado State Welcome Center (be sure to pick up your free discount card for the outlets), Osh Kosh B’Gosh, Gymboree, Carter’s, and Levi’s, among others. Across the Blue River, you’ll find shops like the Beef Jerky Outlet, Le Creuset, Banana Republic, Nike, and LOFT at the “Blue Village,” while the “Red Village” features Samsonite, Bath and Body Works, Eddie Bauer, and Columbia, to name a few.

Food options at the outlet mall include Chipotle, WhichWich, and Starbucks, but if those aren’t your cup of tea, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from around the mall off I-70 and U.S. 6. This mall nestled in the Rockies also puts on various events, so be sure to check out the events calendar to see what’s going on other than the shopping.

Although it’s not an outlet mall, the tourist shops mixed with your typical mall stores, restaurants, and entertainment options makes the 16th Street Mall a one-stop destination for those who want more than just shopping at the outlets. The convenience of not having to drive out of the Denver Metro area is also attractive to shoppers looking for a quick trip.

The Denver Pavilions offers stores like H&M, Sephora, and Express, mixed with a movie theater, bowling alley, and the Hard Rock Cafe. You can take the free 16th Street Mall Ride up and down 16th Street to grab some Colorado swag for the family at great prices and pop into stores like Ann Taylor Loft, Ross, and the Tattered Cover bookstore. At the end of the 16th Street Mall is historic Larimer Square, an upscale shopping experience, with unique boutiques for those looking for higher-end threads. Larimer Square also has bars and restaurants. Make a day out of shopping, dining, and entertainment in Downtown Denver!

Colorado Mills

Address: 14500 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood, CO 80401
Hours: Currently closed due to hailstorm damage.
Phone: 303-384-3000

This mall, with its mixture of outlet offerings and regular-priced stores, is a popular choice for Denver residents who don’t want to make the trek north or south to the outlets while looking for kid-friendly entertainment options, too.

Unfortunately, Colorado Mills closed temporarily in May after damage from a hailstorm, but stores are slowly reopening, like Super Target, the movie theater UA Colorado Mills Stadium 16 IMAX & RPX, and Jumpstreet Indoor Trampoline Park. Both mall officials (and shoppers) are hoping the mall will fully reopen by the holidays, but be sure to keep up with them online!
