When Harley’s owners adopted him in 2011, they were sure he didn’t have long to live. He was rescued from a puppy mill, and he was in rough shape. He lived in deplorable conditions and his cage was power washed with him inside, which left him with a missing eye, a broken tail, gnarled toes, heart disease, and infected teeth. But his love for life and his new home kept him going and he became a mascot for the “Harley to the Rescue” campaign to save puppy mill dogs like him. The ASPCA named Harley the 2015 American Hero Dog for his work. Harley is a great example of why we should never give up and always help others.
