Two giant food companies recently issued massive recalls for chicken and pasta products.
The Tyson Recall — What You Need to Know
Tyson Foods has started a voluntary recall of nearly 2.5 million pounds of breaded chicken that was sold across the country. The ready-to-eat chicken was made with breadcrumbs that might contain milk, which is a known allergen. But the packaging for the chicken didn’t list milk as an ingredient.
It’s unlikely you’ll find the chicken included in the recall in your fridge or freezer. But people should still be cautious as the chicken was sold to restaurants, cafeterias and schools in 30 states, Redbook reported.
Tyson Foods said the recall included 82,760 cases of chicken, including chicken strips, fritters, patties and nuggets. The list below shows the affected products and their product code.

- Spare Time Fully Cooked Chicken Pattie Fritters. Product Code: 016477-0861.
- Spare Time Fully Cooked Chicken Pattie Fritters. Product Code: 005778-0861.
The food products were produced between August of 2016 and January of 2017. An ingredient supplier notified the company of the possible contamination on June 6, 2017.
“Tyson Foods has identified and is working with affected foodservice customers to retrieve and/or remove all recalled products,” the company said in a statement. “Consumers with questions may call the Tyson Foods Consumer Relations department or email Comments@Tyson.com.”
The Chef Boyardee Recall — What You Need to Know
For the same reason, Conagra Brands — the maker of Chef Boyardee — recalled 700,125 pounds of spaghetti and meatball products, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The food products were produced between Jan. 5, 2017 and Jan. 12, 2017. They were shipped nationwide.

Thankfully, no one has reported an allergic reaction or a case of illness from any of the recalled products, according to both companies.
