A 3-year-old Alberta boy and his trusty sidekick, Lacey, a miniature Pomeranian, were busted by the police for speeding — behind the wheel of a battery-powered F-150.
Inside Edition reports Nathan Snow was driving with his dog riding shotgun in his Fort McMurray neighborhood when a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer stopped him.
Nathan’s mother, Heather Snow, told Inside Edition the officer got their approval to “pull over” their son to give him his first traffic “ticket,” a pink slip that had “Too Fast!” written on it.
“He didn’t really understand — he’s 3,” she said. “He doesn’t really understand what a police officer is. So we’ve been trying to explain that police are who you go to if you’re in trouble.”
The officer then chatted with the boy, telling him that for his punishment he needed to go home and help his mother with laundry.
Snow posted the video of Nathan’s adorable traffic stop on her community’s Facebook page, where it garnered thousands of views — and the attention of local media.
Snow told Global News Canada that they’re grateful the officer stopped to talk with Nathan.
“
Now every time we go out somewhere and he sees a cop car he says,
‘
Oh, there’s the police,
’”
Snow said.
“
So now he knows who it is, and we’re trying to teach him that those are his friends.
