If you have a cat, and you celebrate Christmas, you probably fill a stocking for your cat. Or maybe you don’t, but I am here to encourage you to start this fun tradition. You’ll enjoy picking out some gifts for your beloved pet, and he or she will appreciate being included in the holiday festivities!
Now, I will admit that cats are a little harder to buy for than dogs. They are notoriously finicky, and pet stores simply do not stock as many items for cats as they do for dogs. I will share some stocking stuffer ideas that my cat enjoys, and you can feel free to experiment.
1. Fleece blanket – My cat loves the fleece blanket that I made for her. Older kids can make this all by themselves (google no-sew fleece blanket for instructions).
2. Treats – A bag of kitty’s favorite treats is a great stocking stuffer. My cat adores Temptations and refuses everything else, but of course your cat may have totally different tastes.
3. Wet food – If you don’t normally feed your cat wet food, then she is likely to be VERY happy for the special Christmas meal.
4. Catnip toys – Yeoww brand is the best! We have the fish ones, but they also make Christmas ones.
5. Kong catnip toys – I saw these at the store but haven’t tried them out on my cat yet. They have a bunch of cute designs.
6. A new toy to try – My cat rarely plays with any of the toys I’ve bought her, but I keep trying!
7. Different kinds of paper – My cat loves to sleep on random pieces of paper, like wrapping paper and packaging inserts. I think she likes the different textures, so I’ve been saving some interesting ones to roll up and stick in her stocking.
8. Favorite people food – My cat flips out whenever I open a can in the kitchen, hoping that it will be her beloved tuna.
