One of the best things I did when my daughter was diagnosed with C.F., was educating my self about it and her medical needs. It helps to learn how the medications help. It can be very overwhelming, there is a lot of information out there, but take it day by day, and you will learn as you go. Also, keep an open line of communication with your child’s C.F. care team, you are all in this together, and the care team is a great resource. Remember the old saying “it takes a village to raise a child”, in a CFers case it take a CF care team and the child’s family, and maybe even friends, to help raise a healthy C.F. child.
