National Night Out, Tue 8/4 (kid-friendly)

Passing this on. These events are typically fun for kids, as they can sit behind the wheel of a squad car, fire up the siren, or sit atop a motorcycle.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

– TARAVAL Station: Minnie & Lovie Rec Center, 650 Capitol Ave (@ Montana). Food, fun activities, a free backpack giveaway, and more. https://www.taraval.org/?p=4402 

– PARK Police Station: Waller Center (formerly the Hamilton Church) at 1525 Waller Street at Belvedere. Neighborhood block party that include barbecues, basketball games, resource fairs, and presentations by community leaders. 

– INGLESIDE Station: Bernal Rec Center, 500 Moultrie Street @ Jarboe Avenue. Free BBQ dinner, climbing wall, games, jumpy houses, arts & crafts, giveaways, safety resources & more. The Bernal Branch of the SFPL is participating as well, with crafts, refreshments and a screening of “Guardians of the Galaxy” for teens.
