Get centered with your baby in tow at these parent-child classes in the Chicago area.
Practicing the happy baby pose can make you more flexible, relieve stress and solve lower back problems. But imagine how many more benefits you’d get if you have your own happy baby next to you on the mat while doing it!
Luckily, yoga studios around Chicago offer classes that get even the littlest yogis into the flow. We found postnatal mommy-and-me courses tailored to the postpartum body, family yoga that gets everyone involved, and even drop-off classes for kids from preschoolers through teenagers. All the classes are a great way to meet other families and to introduce the healthy perks of yoga to your child — even if they don’t perfect that tree pose just yet.
Remember: These classes aren’t just for the moms — dads, babysitters, nannies, and mother’s helpers are always welcome to join in on the fun, too!

For crawling babies and toddlers, Bloom’s parent and tot classes will teach you both some new skills – and let you get a workout in without a babysitter. Storytime yoga for kids ages 2 to 4 years old puts parents and kids through a creative yoga session that’s tied to a story — be ready to jump like a frog and swim like a fish!
For older kids, Bloom has yoga classes for ages 5 through 8, and tween and teen yoga for ages 9 to 14. Expecting? Prenatal yoga classes are just the beginning here — they offer childbirth prep workshops, pregnancy and postpartum massage, and “Ask the Doulas” events.
