Printables for kids like coloring pages and activity sheets are perfect for keeping busy kids busy. Plus, for parents and nannies, they can save your sanity while you’re traveling, out to eat or just need a break. Printables are “a great alternative to screen time and fun for kids of all ages,” says Abigail Peterson, a kindergarten teacher and Lovin’ Our Chaos blogger. She adds that printables give you a chance to see your child’s strengths along with skills you may want to work on.
As a former teacher who now homeschools her kids, blogger Brandi Jordan of Mama Teaches agrees. “While doodling and coloring are great activities for fine motor-skill development and creativity,” she says, “sometimes having a printable that adds another level of educational value is really important.” Thankfully, plenty of printables “sneak learning in while still keeping kids engaged,” she says.
