Great Companies for Working Parents

Great Companies for Working Parents

For employers competing for the best and brightest of today’s talent, family care benefits, like maternity leave, paternity leave and child care assistance, are no longer a “nice-to-have” work perk, they’re a must-have employee benefit.

The emergence of family-friendly employee benefits as a competitive advantage is a response to a number of converging factors: A rebounding economy, evolving views on traditional gender roles, the arrival of Millennials and an explosion of awareness around the importance of maternity and paternity leave.

Family care benefits don’t just help with recruiting and retention. A recent survey commissioned by Care for Business found that 90 percent of employees have left work due to family responsibilities and more than 40 percent say the lack of family care benefits impacts their job performance. Meanwhile, care-related productivity loss costs American businesses tens of billions annually.

Here, we have aggregated some of the best examples of companies with family-friendly employer benefits meant to support working parents.

This list is meant to be a living, breathing roundup of modern employers that put programs in place to support our modern families. We’ve set paid parental leave for both new moms and dads as the bar you must meet to be included in the list.

We’ll be updating this post regularly, so please let us know of any we might have missed and share your compay’s initiatives in the comments below.
