I own a local, small housekeeping company out of Deposit-E. Branch area of Delaware County, NY. The business is 90% private homes, some are full-time residences and some are vacation or rentals. Every job is a bit different, which makes working for my company more interesting. Each home has different needs and requests. My 2 full-time/part-time employees love their job and have been with me since 2014. Many of their jobs involve the same homes on a biweekly or even weekly basis. I find that when an employee is comfortable at a certain home, especially if they clean homes while the clients are in residence, that they form a friendly relationship and are happier with their work. I am flexible about scheduling with my housekeepers and they are flexible with their scheduled work. There are weeks where jobs get changed from one day to the next or get cancelled. Many jobs are added at the last minute. It's sounds hectic, but we make it work. I am friendly with my employees and we communicate on a daily basis using email. Starting pay is $12.00 per hour and is on the books. Pay day is on Friday weekly. You are covered with workers' compensation benefits. As well as disability and social security wages, NY state taxes and federal taxes. I do supply you with cleaning equipment or you can use your own if you have it and are more comfortable. New policy for 2018 is that I will supply you with an allowance for cleaning products. We can use clients' own cleaning chemicals or cleaning equipment. In fact, some clients prefer us to use their stuff. What I would do is try my best to get you work within a 10 minute to 45 minutes drive. If a home is beyond that distance, I would compensate you for your time & gas. Hours are less in the Winter months as many of our clients shut down their homes and move back to their permanent home. Or have hunting and/or fishing cabins that they shut down. So, this is the perfect time to start with us to see if you like working with us and get trained as to where the jobs are before the busier Spring/Summer/Fall season. We do work all year round. I also supply you with new business logo shirts. You supply your own pants and black yoga type is preferred. No ripped clothing is permitted to be worn. I will run a background check on you before hiring. I would meet you and have you sign paperwork to join our company. You can figure on at least 10 hours per week now up to possibly 20.
